Handicraft shop OBI started its operation on September 10, 1987, establishing its seat in Rekovac.
In the beginning, the
company was run exclusively through PUZ UZOR (Cooperative of Associated
Being a beginner, the company dealt solely with handicraft work, dominated by painting works. Its first big job was Painting and repair of the car assembly hall at the car factory Z.C.Z.
In 1992, the company started its independent operations, without mediation of the Cooperative, and opened its own business premises with the seat in Kragujevac. Moving to Kragujevac, the company started working both construction and handicraft works.
In 1999, more workers were hired and the company started with more significant investments regarding fixed assets and development. The progress continued in the following years.
The progress and expansion in the scope of works faced the company leadership with more and more organizational requirements and created significant organizational issues. Aiming to resolve the problems of internal organization and in order to meet all international requirements, in December 2005, in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Kragujevac, the company entered the process of introducing the control management system ISO 9001/2000.
In October 2006, the company was awarded the ISO 9001/2000 certificate, which made it equal to the leading companies of the country.
At the moment, the OBI company has 60 full-time and 20 part-time employees, fifteen of which make the company management.
